Community Stations host INSITE LAB
The INSITE LAB is a roving platform for artists, architects and curators on both sides of the border, designed to instigate conversations and experiences around process and research in art making. The LAB offers an innovative framework outside of academia where participants engage with specialists from a variety of disciplines and reimagine the region as a laboratory for research.
INSITE_LAB 2 was a year-long collaboration between INSITE and TAAE (Transborder Association of Architectural Education). This new edition aimed to cultivate a network of emerging architects, artists, and designers committed to addressing critical spatial, social, and environmental issues through interdisciplinary collaboration and site-specific explorations. The program took off with a series of discussions, workshops, and fieldtrips to a wide range of projects across the San Diego–Tijuana border, including the UCSD–Casa Community Station in San Diego and the UCSD–Alacran Community Station in Tijuana.
